Happy Halloween! It is now week 5 of the ONE ROOM CHALLENGE and we are rounding the corner. So far it has been a very productive week. The nightstands are painted and ready for me to apply the seashells but the special shells that I ordered to finish out the design won’t be here until tomorrow.
I decided to wallpaper the room myself, it was my first time wallpapering and mind you I did it all by myself. I am thrilled with how it turned out!
Scroll down to see a preview of what’s to come next week. I am getting super excited and can’t wait to show you my finished room. I hope you will love it just as much as I think I am going to.
See you here next week!

Welcome to week 4 of the ONE ROOM CHALLENGE. Remember last week when I said that I was optimistic that I would finish on time? Well this week has me not feeling quite as optimistic :/
My wallpaper came in and I decided that I would try and wallpaper the room myself even though I have never done it before. How hard could it be, right?! Well… I assembled all of my supplies and started making the cuts for all of my pieces when I realized that because the repeat was so large that I hadn’t allowed quite enough for the waste and turned up 1 cut short!! I put a call into my vendor right away letting them know that I needed more and that it had to be from the same dyelot! Luckily, they had more in stock and it is on it’s way!!
( cue the happy dance! )
Since I don’t have any pretty photos of the room this week you can check out my daybed below.
Thanks for checking in and I will see you next week.

The whole room is based around this wallpaper so you can imagine how I felt when I came up 1 cut short.
Here is my daybed and I just love it. Putting it together was not as hard as putting the linens on!
The detailing is gorgeous. I love how deep the tufting is as well as the nailheads. Also, there is a sneak peek at my agate lamps.
Everyone has been very busy and are doing a great job. Check out there progress here https://www.oneroomchallenge.com/orc-blog/ #oneroomchallenge
Good Morning Everyone!
Hope you are having a great week! It’s crazy that it is already week 3 which means there are only 3 weeks left in the One Room Challenge. I felt like my progress was going quite well until I realized just how fast 3 weeks goes by. However, I am optimistic that all will go as planned and I will finish on time. Check out my progress photos below. Thanks and have a happy day!

HElllooo! Welcome back for week 2 of my One Room Challenge makeover. I am so thrilled you are here. I have been an interior designer/home stager of over 2 decades and feel like that background really equips me in some ways for this One Room Challenge. However, a blogger I am not and it is really important to tell your weekly progress in an interesting and fun way. When I was in design school my teachers praised me for my creativity and told me that I was a stream of consciousness thinker so therefore it was ok for me to write in a stream of consciousness manner. WELLLL that was fine then but hasn’t really served me well since. What that really means now is that I do not always punctuate when it is necessary and I have a tendency to have run on sentences. I feel it is only fair to share that with you so when you are reading this you are able to hopefully understand where I am going :) I really am more of a visual person as well so telling my story with pictures is really more my style which is why I LOVE Instagram so much.
That said here we go! So as I mentioned before I decided to do my guest room for the ORC. Again, below is the real estate photo and how the room looked when we bought the house. Yes it still screams YUUCK!! ( that is a technical designer term for those of you who didn’t know :) ) Not only is this room our guest room but it needs to do double duty because a guest room alone is really just wasted unused space and when you live in a small beach house you can’t have that! I am also going to make this into a snuggle up and watch tv room. Either way it will serve a great purpose and my guests will have everything they need for a nice and comfortable stay. I am also going to be highlighting some of my vast blue and white porcelain collection to give the color and feel of a beach house without being obvious in the decor.
The below photos are my inspiration room and well as my mood board showing the overall design concept. I would love it if you would leave a comment and tell me what you think.
Until next week….

OMG are you guys ready for the fall edition of the ONE ROOM CHALLENGE? I know I am! I am super excited to be a guest participant for the first time ever. I have been wanting to do this for so long and am finally getting the opportunity. This is such a special event to be involved in and the talent is abounding so make sure to check out all the featured designers as well as the guest participants like myself. For those of you who don’t know my Husband and I bought a beach house in San Clement CA in May and I have decided to do my guest room for this challenge. Check out the pics below of the real estate photos of the room when we purchased the house. If the word “YUCK” comes to mind those are my sentiments exactly. If you are not familiar with the ONE ROOM CHALLENGE you can check out all the details and fab photos here https://www.oneroomchallenge.com/orc-blog/.
